Professor Holt and the Sherman Symphony On October 25, Professor John Holt performed the Tomasi Concerto with the Sherman Symphony in Sherman, TX.

If you would like to hear more from Professor Holt, his CD Facets is available at the UNT Bookstore and Penders Music. The album contains music featuring both solo trumpet and trumpet ensemble. There is an excerpt from Ballade for Trumpet in C and Piano available in the Faculty section of this site.

Mr. Haynie At the 2003 ITG Conference at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, North Texas Professor Emeritus John Haynie visited with UNT trumpet students, past and present. Baroque Trumpet Symposium:

The Trumpet Department at the University of North Texas presented a Baroque Trumpet Symposium March 28-29, 2003, hosted by Regents Professor of Trumpet Keith Johnson. Period instrument performances, lectures and masterclasses on literature and pedagogy were presented by John Thiessen, Adam Gordon, and Keith Johnson. 2003 Baroque Trumpet Ensemble

Joining these performers were Professor Lenora McCroskey, organ and harpsichord, and Kathryn James, a doctoral teaching fellow and conductor of the Baroque Trumpet Ensemble at UNT. Dr. Lyle Nordstrom conducted the UNT Baroque Orchestra, one of the largest of its type in North America.
