Michael Collins, Professor of Musicology

B.A., M.A., Ph.D., Stanford University.  Collins' research interests are Baroque performance practice, history of opera, dramatic theory and aesthetics, and French court dancing during the time of Louis XIV. He has edited Alessandro Scarlatti's Tigrane (1983), edited and contributed to Opera and Vivaldi (1984), and edited the critical edition of Gioachine Rossini's Otello (1994). In 1963-64, Collins received a Fulbright research fellowship to Italy.
