Summer Percussion Study at UNT in 2009!



The UNT Marching Percussion Camp will be held June 15-18, 2009

Clinicians at this year's camp will include: Paul Rennick UNT Faculty & Percussion Director for the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps and Bill Bachman, tenor specialist.

Bill studied percussion performance at the University of North Texas and is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music. While at UNT he was a member of the University of North Texas Indoor Drumline. During his work with DCI he has instructed the Bluecoats, Blue Knights and Carolina Crown.

The UNT Marching Percussion Camp trains high school percussionists each summer on the UNT campus in the tradition of the world renowned North Texas Drumline. Benefits include:

* High School drumlines can attend and work on their show music for the fall.
* Individuals are encouraged to attend to improve their drumming skills, perform
in an ensemble based on skill level and get motivated for their fall drumline.
* Expert guidance from established teachers.
* 10 hours a day of instruction.
* Students must provide their own instruments.

The teaching faculty is composed of UNT Drumline alumni who are instructors for high school, college, and Drum Corps International programs.

The UNT Marimba Workshop will be held June 22-26, 2009

Faculty will include:

She-e Wu - Northwestern University
Mark Ford - University of North Texas
Brian Zator - Texas A&M - Commerce
Christopher Deane - University of North Texas




This marimba workshop is designed for high school (juniors & seniors) and college students as well as professionals and educators.

Participants will enjoy:
Private Lessons and Master Classes with World Class Instructors
Ensemble, Technique and Literature Sessions
Student solo and ensemble recitals

Participants will be grouped into levels of experience/ability and placed in an ensemble.

Students will be expected to have a minimum of two solo works or etudes in progress to work on and perform for the workshop.

Participants who have graduated high school must complete a background check form if requesting to stay in the dorm. Download the form here and return with your completed registration form.
