| Senior BM student Justin Benavidez was the third place winner at the 2004 Leonard Falcone International Tuba and Euphonium Festival Tuba Artist Competition. Justin won $500 as winner of the Unusual Instrument Division at the 2005 Kingsville International Young Performers Competition and also received $200 as third place winner in the Senior Instrumental Division of this competition. Justin was honored by the UNT College of Music as Best Undergraduate Brass Student for 2004-2005. He was offered and accepted a full-tuition scholarship to pursue MM graduate studies at the University of Michigan beginning Fall 2005.
DMA candidate David Daussat was appointed to a full-time low brass teaching position beginning Fall 2005 at the University of Tennesse at Martin. David was a featured performer at the ITEA Southeastern Regional Tuba Euphonium Workshop held in Athens, GA during March 2005. David was also a semi-finalist in the 2005 Leonard Falcone International Tuba and Euphonium Festival Tuba Artist Competition.
BME student James Goodley apeared on the national syndicated television show, Showtime at the Apollo in New York City with the Inner City All Stars Brass Band of Denton.

(right) BME/MM graduate Karl M. Hovey was appointed principal tuba and section leader of the US Navy Band of Washington, DC.
BM graduate Alex Ivy was appointed to a tuba position with the US Navy Bands and is stationed on the Mississippi River near Memphis, TN.
BME graduate David Moen was apointed to a teaching position with the Conservatorio Professional de Oviedo, Spain.
MM graduate and DMA candidate Richard S. Morgan recently retired from his position with the Texas A&M University at Kingsville.
BM graduate John Moriarty was appointed to a tuba position with the US Navy Fleet Band at Norfolk, VA.
Rising senior BM student Ryan Robinson was a semifinalist in the 2005 Leonard Falcone International Tuba and Euphonium Festival Tuba Artist Competition.
Former DMA student Jay Rozen toured Amsterdam, Paris, Spain, Canada, Norway, Sardinia and others locations in Europe with the Anthony Braxton Sextet. Jay also continues as a free-lance tuba artist and composer in New York.
Former DMA student Ryan Scott joins MM graduate Phil Becker in his recent appointment to a tuba position with the US Continental Army Band, Major Command Band at Ft. Monroe, VA
DMA graduate David Spies auditioned for and was appointed principal tuba with the Racine Symphony of Wisconsin. David was also appointed a member of the Willson Tuba Quartet.
BM graduate Andrew Tucker was appointed a member of the Chicago Brass Band and has been a featured soloist with that ensemble on NPR and the BBC. He is completing his DMA at Indiana University and continues to present solos, clinics and master classes throughout the United States and Europe.
