Acclaimed by Joseph Gingold as a "virtuoso of high rank", Julia Bushkova has distinguished herself as an artist with unique and charismatic stage presence. Since her arrival to the United States, she received rave reviews for her performances of major violin concerti. “Schwarzwalder Bote” (Germany) called her Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto “a Russian violin tradition of highest elegance.” The “Grand Rapids Press” and the “Ann Arbor News” emphasized “her remarkable expressiveness and an unusually large and beautiful tone... her dazzling cadenzas and extraordinary technical execution.”

Ms. Bushkova has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras and in recital throughout the United States as well as Germany, Italy, Canada and the United Kingdom. She continues to perform regularly throughout United States and Europe. In the past few years, she served as an Artist-in-Residence in Southeast Iowa, appeared as a soloist with Sacramento Philharmonic and Sacramento Chamber Orchestra (CA), and in recitals in California, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Vermont. She has been heard with UNT Symphony Orchestra in performances of "Poéme" by Chausson, "Sinfonia Concertante" by Mozart as well as in highly acclaimed performances in Canada and Italy. Most recently, she performed the Brahms’s “Double Concerto” with UNT and Plano Symphonies, Mozart’s G Major Concerto with UNT Chamber Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of Jalisco (Mexico); appeared in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the BargeMusic series in New York City (NY).

A dedicated chamber musician, Ms. Bushkova has participated in Brzewski International Festival (Poland), Columbia River Festival (WA), Fontana International Chamber Music Festival(MI), Yellow Barn Music Festival (VT), Interlochen Chamber Players (MI), Green Lake Festival (WI), Dancing Bear Chamber Music Series (MI), Castelfranco International Festival (Italy), The Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth (TX), and Niagara International Chamber Music Festival (Canada).

Prior to her appointment at University of North Texas, Ms. Bushkova taught at Interlochen Arts Academy and Arts Camp in Michigan. There she worked with young violinists from the United States and all over the world. Ms. Bushkova's students have gone on to attend the finest conservatories, including the Curtis Institute of Music, The Juilliard School, Oberlin Conservatory, New England Conservatory, Cleveland Institute of Music, Eastman School of Music, and perform with well known ensembles and orchestras, such as Cavani String Quartet, Detroit Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Toronto Symphony, and New York Philharmonic.

Ms. Bushkova has presented master classes throughout the U.S. including the University of Michigan, Carnegie-Mellon University, Oberlin Conservatory among others, and in the United Kingdom, Germany, Chile and Russia. She has served as a judge at Luis Sigall International Violin Competition (Chile), taught at Brzewski International Master Classes (Poland), Yellow Barn Music School, Weathersfield Music Festival (Vermont) and is currently on the faculty of Niagara International School for Musical Arts (Canada).

Born into a family of renowned violinists in Moscow, Russia, Julia Bushkova began study of the violin at the age of five and made her concerto debut at the age of fifteen in Poland. She graduated with highest honors in performance and teaching from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory where she studied with Professors Igor Bezrodny, Konstantin Adjemov and Dmitri Shebalin of the Borodin String Quartet.
