Undergraduates

All applications for the 2008-2009 academic year must be received by the first Monday in February. All auditions must be completed by the first Monday in April.

IMPORTANT
Please send all materials to the appropriate addresses as printed on the various forms. UNT and the College of Music cannon be responsible for the timely arrival of materials to the appropriate office. UNT applications DO NOT GO to the College of Music. Materials will not be returned.

Undergraduate Audition/Scholarship Application

  • Download the PDF which includes both the 3-page application and the three recommendation forms.

For scholarship consideration, application and audition must be completed by the first Monday in March. Announcement of awards will begin on the first Monday in April.

Audition Repertoire

Section I - Majors
Performance
Refer to Section II: Undergraduate Auditions: Principal Instrument /Voice for Applied Majors and Concentrations (below) for repertoire requirements in your applied major. Sight reading will be a requirement of each audition.

General, Choral and Instrumental Music Education leading to teacher certification: 
Refer to Section II: Undergraduate Auditions: Principal Instrument /Voice for Applied Majors and Concentrations (below) for repertoire requirements in your concentration.

Composition
Refer to Section II: Undergraduate Auditions: Principal Instrument /Voice for Applied Majors and Concentrations (below) for repertoire requirements in your concentration; additionally, freshmen should audition for concentration study. In addition to the audition, transfer students must submit several representative manuscript compositions. Materials will not be returned. Scores and recordings of original compositions are not required.
